FAQ

Questions, answered.

How does SnagRid beat normal search?

We test route, date, airport, and order combinations normal search makes you try manually — different city orders, date windows, nearby airports, airline pairings. We rank the survivors against your rules. We don't take your tokens for trips we can't beat: trips that look unwinnable get classified as Low potential and steered to a $1 Cached Scan instead of a full paid search.

How is this different from a standard flight search engine?

Mainstream flight search engines search the exact trip you typed and they're great at it. SnagRid is built for the trips you almost typed — the permutations there are too many of to try by hand. The two tools complement each other.

How does compute-budget pricing work?

You approve a max spend before we run. SnagRid estimates how many route permutations your trip generates and shows a price range tied to the actual compute cost (flight APIs, scrapes, LLM tokens). We never exceed the cap you approve.

What's the difference between Smart Search and Deep Search?

Smart Search handles 1–2 destinations with small date flex. Deep Search handles 3+ destinations, flexible city order, weekend/dietary restriction rules, hotel pairing, and ships backup routes.

Do you book the tickets for me?

No. SnagRid is a search and comparison tool. We hand you the booking order and the direct provider links — you book on the providers' sites.

Can I block specific days of the week from travel?

Yes. Tell us 'no travel on Saturdays' (or any other day) and it becomes a locked rule. We add buffer time around the blocked window and route around blocked legs entirely. Works for any weekly observance or dietary restriction window.

Is my data private?

Trip text is processed for the search and stored only to support refunds and re-search. We don't sell it, and you can delete your search history any time.

What APIs do you use?

We aggregate live availability from major flight and hotel providers. Free Preview uses cached data; paid tiers hit live pricing where it matters.

What if a price changes while I'm booking?

Add Priority Re-Search Support and we re-run remaining combinations around what you've already booked, so the rest of the trip stays optimal.

How do I cancel?

There's nothing to cancel — SnagRid is pay-per-search. No subscription, no auto-renew.

Do you auto-charge my card when my wallet runs low?

No. We don't auto-charge your card. Top-up packs are one-time purchases. Leftover funds stay in your wallet and never expire.

Where does your airline route data come from?

Schedule-aware pre-filtering (which airlines fly which city pairs, and which hubs to try for connections) is powered by the OpenFlights route database (openflights.org), used under their Open Database License. Live pricing comes from Travelpayouts/Aviasales.

How does SnagRid get smarter?

Every cached fare we surface gets recorded as an anonymous flight observation — airline, route, day-of-week, time, price. Over time those observations build a schedule pattern database: 'LY operates TLV→JFK on Sun/Mon/Wed', 'LH leaves FRA→TLV around 14:30 most weekdays'. Before each new search we prefilter candidate trips against those known patterns and skip day-of-week combinations no airline actually flies. That means fewer wasted API calls, faster results, and better routing the more searches the platform runs. No personal trip data is shared — only airline/route/time observations.
